My Yoga for Scoliosis class incorporates the following:

Gentle And Structural

My yoga and body movement classes are gentle yet strong. This won’t be your typical Vinyasa or Flow yoga class with constant movement. Instead, poses are held for a longer period to help you access and recognize groups of muscles you may not have realized you had! Because each posture is held for a bit longer, we’ll focus on the structure of the poses so that you can safely get in and out of them AND get the most benefit.

Spine Health

A healthy and happy spine is essential in our daily movement. Through yoga poses, you’ll gain awareness of your spine. And then with that awareness you can get length in your muscles and vertebrae, gain strength throughout your body, and mindfully de-rotate the asymmetrical scoliosis curves.

Iyengar Method

There are a few different styles of Yoga. Yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar (1918-2014) helped create a format and style to address the body and meet it where it is through “meditation in action,” or asanas (postures). Props like straps, blocks, and blankets assist us in poses so that each posture is tailored to our own bodies no matter our age, abilities, or limitations.

Private Yoga Sessions

One-on-one yoga sessions are a great option to learn yoga pose basics and to feel empowered about how to move your body.
